International
Internationally, NTN has represented both Australian and global NGOs at the OECD Chemical Joint Meetings, where it had a particular focus on the assessment and phaseout of persistent bioaccumulative toxic substances such as the perfluorochemicals (e.g. perfluorooctanyl sulfonate (PFOS), perfluorooctanoic acids (PFOA) and the brominated flame retardants (BFRs) as well as the growing dependence on the protection of commercial business information (CBI). NTN is actively involved in the Intergovernmental Forum on Chemical Safety (IFCS) providing an Australian focal point for its INFOCAP information and capacity building program. (See Reports). Upcoming international meetings are listed on the Events page.
